Stop Spider Veins and Tired and Aching Legs Before they happen

Who Needs to Wear Compression Stockings or Socks

New App for Oxygen Users

With the use of oxygen there comes the responsibility of carrying a portable oxygen cylinder, unless you are using an iGo portable oxygen system.  If you are using tanks to get around town or to and from Doctors appointments you either have a regulator or a conserving device attached to get the oxygen flowing.  The regulator allows for the flow to be continuous and does not do anything to help the tank last longer.  The conserver usually has some kind of ratio 5:1 or 3:1 or even breath sensor to allow it to last much longer.  These are both great delivery systems but the question time and time again is “How long will my tank last?” The answer is finally here.  The company Responsive Respiratory has launched an app that is available for both the Android and iPhone that will allow you to put in specs of what you are using and tank size so that you can get a proper estimate of how long your tank should last you.  This will help reduce the guessing game.  As always it will depend on what brand, make, and model of each regulator or conserver you are using but it is a handy tool.  The app named O2 To Go also found under Cylinder Duration Calculator is a must for all oxygen users not on a portable oxygen system.

There are always people that don’t understand the importance of testing their blood sugar daily or as directed by a physician.  A physician will direct patients differently on how they should be testing but the key is to follow the proper steps. For example, it is important that you first clean the site where you will be pricking and allow the blood sample to flow so that it can be tested accurately.
